Presented by Holy Archangels Orthodox Church and the Phoenix Russian Library Club, the Arizona Russian Festival will feature the historic culture of the world’s largest country (spanning nine time zones) into a single day and one-location celebration. Showcasing live performances, including the Arizona Balalaika Orchestra and harpist Alla Yashneva, the event also boasting time-honored food, works by Russian artists, workshops, games, video presentations on Orthodox icons and Russian folk music, handmade goods, and Russian sidecar motorcycles. There's even a competition for best Russian folk costume.
Visit the Arizona Russian Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, November 20, at Glendale Community College, 6000 West Olive Avenue. Admission is FREE.
