Glendale Glitters Spectacular: Arizona's Largest Free Holiday Light Display

The Glendale Glitters Spectacular is an annual celebration in the downtown city of Glendale.  This year's event will begin the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 26th, at 5 p.m.  A thirty minute light show will feature the Valley Jazz Divas and Lauren Froderman, the winner of this season's "So You Think You Can Dance" national television competition, performing at 5:30 p.m.  Froderman will be turning on the 1.5 million lights that will illuminate sixteen blocks throughout downtown Glendale.  A thirty-foot holiday tree will be animated with lights dancing to holiday music.  This event will have a children's winter wonderland, horse-drawn carriage rides, hand-crafted gifts, amazing food, shopping, and Santa Claus.  The Glendale Glitters Spectacular has a theme each weekend and will last through January 8th from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Attendees for the Glendale Glitters Spectacular can pay for preferred parking in two of the downtown garages for $10.  The first location is at City Hall on 59th Avenue and Glendale Avenue or at the Bank of America building on 58th Avenue and Glenn Drive.  There are also shuttles available between 5-10:30 p.m. from Glendale Community College at 59th Avenue and Olive.  These shuttles will pick up passengers from the northeast parking lot.  There is also street parking available, in the downtown area of Glendale,  for free on a first come basis.

For additional information on this event, please contact the Special Events Hotline:  623-930-2290.  Performers, times, and dates could change.
