In early November, Dave Talley, a Tempe homeless man, found a backpack at Rural Road and University Drive, at the light rail station. His first instinct was to find the contact information. Cash in the amount of $3,300, located in an envelope, and a small flash drive is what Talley found. The backpack, with not a dollar touched, was returned to a police station. ASU student, Bryan Belanger, was located through files and his resume that were thankfully stored on the computer. Belanger had saved his money to purchase a car after a car accident last month. Talley needed his own mode of transportation fixed, a bicycle.
John F. Kennedy once said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." Someone did the right thing, a conscience was restored.
