The Original Story "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens

One of the all time classic Christmas stories is “A Christmas Carol” written by Charles Dickens and first published December 19th 1843.  Early on it was read aloud to captivated audiences of all ages.

It has been reproduced in many forms over the years.  It has been done as stage plays, radio dramas, motion pictures and televison shows. They have all tried to bring this timeless classic to life.  Some of these productions have tired to stay faithful to the original and others have modified the story so much that it is hard to recognize.

Now, the good folks at Project Gutenberg ( http://www.gutenberg.org/ ) have reproduced the original manuscript.  In addition to “A Christmas Carol” they offer many wonderful books and poems that are in the public domain and the stories are reproduced and provided at no charge. (Donations are accepted.)

Along with the readable text of “A Christmas Carol” are the manuscript sheets in Charles Dickens own hand.
