In my continuing coverage of things to do in the west Valley of the Phoenix AZ Metro area I want to introduce you to the Adobe Dam Regional Park located at 23280 N. 43rd Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85310. Sitting at the base of the Hedgepeth Hills in north Phoenix, this 1,526-acre park offers recreationists the opportunity to participate in activities that require ample space. The land is used by many clubs, including:
Arizona Model Pilots Society R/C Airport, Airfield
The AMPS flying site has an asphalt runway that is 600’ long and 75’ wide.
The Adobe Mountain Desert Railroad Park is home to the Maricopa Live Steamers, Arizona Model Railroading Society, Arizona Garden Railway Society, and the Sahuaro Central Railroad Heritage Preservation Society. More than 6 miles of track runs through the rugged Arizona desert at Adobe Mountain Desert Railroad Park.
Phoenix Kart Racing Association Race Track
PKRA is a member owned and operated club and facility. The multiple configuration asphalt track is 3/4th of a mile long and averages 25 feet in width.
Arizona Karting Association Kart Racing Track
One organization that provides this less expensive alternative to race cars is the Arizona Karting Association which was established in 1987 as a non-profit organization to promote the family sport of kart racing and the overall enjoyment of racing Karts. The track is 1/5 mile in length.
Fort Adobe Paintball Complex
Arizona’s premier paintball facility boast’s 150+ acres of paintball excitememt.
