Glendale Glitters' annual finale to the season, the Glitter and Glow Block Party is on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 4-11 p.m. with fun for everyone!
Take in 1.5 million lights along with dozens of hot air balloons glowing amongst the trees throughout 16 blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale.
More than 75,000 people will stroll the sidewalks and watch the tethered balloons gently expand as they are fired up, enjoying more than a dozen bands performing all types of music, as well as street performers for a climactic finale to the festive season.
An extra hour of entertainment, the “After Glow” will feature The Chadwicks, Arizona’s premiere cover band, performing from 9:30 to 11 p.m. for those who just can’t bear to say farewell to the holiday season’s festive atmosphere and downtown Glendale’s million-plus lights!
For the first time, event attendees will have the option of paying for preferred parking in the two downtown garages, located at City Hall, at 59th and Glendale Avenues and the Bank of America building, at 58th Avenue and Glenn Drive. The preferred parking fee is $10. For those who like the free parking option, shuttles run all evening long, and pick up from the northeast parking lots of Glendale Community College located at 59th and Olive Avenues. In addition, surface and street parking in and around the downtown remain free.
