Seats for Soldiers Mixes cars, Baseball, Patriotism

Two of Americas greatest pastimes come together with the 2nd Annual Arizona Diamondbacks Seats for Soldiers Car Show on Saturday, May 21, 2011 3:00PM-10:00PM. The Car show will be located on the corner of 4th Street and Jefferson Street right in front of Chase Field.  The portion of Fourth Street that runs past the plaza and ticket windows on the stadium's western side will be closed Saturday, to make room for about 100 vehicles.

Mix in the fact that the car show outside the Arizona Diamondbacks' Chase Field in downtown Phoenix benefits Arizona military families, and it's a truly patriotic proposition.

The car show, which will be judged by two Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. officials, will start at 3 p.m., about four hours before game time, giving baseball fans plenty of time to take in all the automotive sights.
Donations of $54 to $510 to secure car-show spots will fund tickets to future games for members of the military and their families. Car-show participants receive admission to the 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Minnesota Twins. The show is open to all makes and models of cars. Three categories - best of show, most patriotic and most Diamondbacks spirit - will be judged, with winners receiving tickets to the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Scottsdale.

As a bonus, the first 15,000 fans entering the stadium that day will get garden gnomes decorated to commemorate Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, which takes place in Phoenix on July 12.

Admission: Free. Car-show participants' fee is $54-$510, includes baseball game admission.
